An Afternoon In Castleton
We didn't do any of the 'touristy' things while we were up there, aside from caving and buying a piece of Blue John jewellery from ASD Jewellers (our first port of call).
Instead of striding up Mam Tor or roaming down one of the caves, we just strolled around the village, at our own pace, stopping occasionally to take photos of the stunning scenery.
After that, we were in dire need of refreshments. It was sweltering that day! As we were wandering along Cross Street back to the Visitor Centre car park, we quickly popped into the Ye Olde Nags Head pub. And then it was time to head back home!
It was so quiet - well - it felt quiet, considering that it was a red hot Friday afternoon in June. That's the beauty of the Peak District. Not only do you get gorgeous views, but it's peaceful even when it's busy.
We really are so lucky to have Castleton on our doorstep!
