And even though this meal was quite a while ago, I was reminded of it recently, and I couldn't resist sharing it with you. It was that good.
This is going to be quite a short post... Mainly so I don't make myself hungry by staring at these photos for too long.
Anyway, ASK Italian is nestled in the Assembly Rooms in Derby. It's been there for quite a few years now, and I've always enjoyed their food.
Their pasta is great. Their salads are lovely. Their pizzas are tasty.
But their chips - those babies are next level.
Between the three of us, we shared slices of the pizza, nibbled away at pasta dishes (that definitely weren't intended to be shared when ordered), and kept nicking chips off the person who'd actually ordered them.
The pizza I ordered was the Pollo E Funghi (chicken and mushroom) one. That's currently £10.95. It's a generously-sized portion, and I genuinely couldn't manage it all by myself, so I had to keep donating slices to my two companions.
And those cracking 'crunchy-on-the-outside-fluffy-on-the-inside' chips? The ones that we had were the garlic and cheese chips. Chips with a gorgeous garlic mayonnaise, topped with a sprinkling of gradually melting parmesan, set us back £3.95. (Money well spent, in my opinion.)
Oh, and they also do takeaway, plus click and call & collect.
If you haven't been before, I'd recommend booking a visit or treating yourself to a takeaway.
