Just a little bit of housekeeping.
Just a little post to wish you a Merry Christmas.
Chatsworth Park: What's It Like Visiting the Park?
Friday, 24 September 2021 Chatsworth House, Bakewell DE45 1PP, UK
Chatsworth House is a beautiful place to visit, but it can be quite expensive if you fancy wandering around the house itself or the stunning gardens. There is a cheaper way for locals to explore the area though, and that's by going to Chatsworth Park instead.
Hartington: A Travel Guide For The Derbyshire Village
Monday, 7 June 2021 Hartington, Buxton SK17, UK
Hartington is a Derbyshire village that's one of my favourite places to pop to for a quiet wander.
Peak Village, Rowsley - Visiting During Social Distancing
Sunday, 6 June 2021 Chatsworth Rd, Rowsley, Matlock DE4 2JE, UK
Peak Village is a shopping village in the Derbyshire Dales. What's it like to visit at the moment?
Of course, we're all hoping that 2021 is going to be a much, much better year for us all.
But, I wanted to discuss the gap in posting on this blog for such a long time (nearly a year, in actual fact!)
The whole point of me writing this blog in the first place is to celebrate all of the great things that Derbyshire has to offer.
Except, I haven't, like most people, been able to explore most of it for a long time. Aside from a few wanders around Chatsworth Park, a visit to Chatsworth Gardens for my birthday last Summer, and a couple of walks around Matlock Bath, I haven't explored anywhere in Derbyshire!
A Derbyshire travel wish list for when things go back to 'normal':
- Spend an afternoon browsing and buying books in Scarthin Books once again.
- Treat myself to some more Blue John jewellery in Castleton.
- Have fish and chips at Matlock Bath.
- Take my camera up to Alport Heights (provided that it's re-opened).
- Go to one of the Fabulous Places markets.
- Go shopping in Derby again.
- Take myself on a coffee shop crawl of the many ones I'm yet to visit.
- Venture up to Bakewell and stuff my face with a Bakewell tart.
A tiny bit of good news:
In better news, I wanted to tell you that I've opened an Etsy shop! It's called The Derbyshire Paper Co. and I sell digital prints over there. If that sounds like something that you're interested in, you can find my shop here.
